The equivalent of a vehicle driver's license is a Remote Pilot License. In India, a license is necessary to use a drone for business. Commercial flight without a Remote Pilot License is prohibited.
Drone pilot training is essential if you want to become a licensed remote pilot and also helps you develop the necessary drone flying abilities.
Remote Pilot Licenses are separated into three categories according to the kind of drone. Which are:
CAT1 Remote Pilot License Basic - up to Small Category, for operation only in visual line of sight in Green Zones up to 400ft altitude
CAT2 Remote Pilot License Special- up to Medium Category, for operation in all zones beyond visual line of sight and beyond 400ft altitude
CAT3 Remote Pilot License Advance- up to Large Category, for operation in all zones beyond visual line of sight and beyond 400ft altitude.

You can fly a certain category of drone with each type of pilot license. To fly a small category drone, you must have a CAT2 Remote Pilot Special License.
Flying Beyond Visual Line of Sight requires both a CAT2 or CAT3 license and the necessary DGCA authorization.
If you are using a nano or micro drone for non-commercial activities, getting trained is not required. The only way to obtain the Remote Pilot Licence for commercial and professional flying is through training, which also aids in learning the required abilities.
Licenses for remote pilots are good for 10 years until they are suspended or revoked. Additionally, a remote pilot license may only be used if it is registered with the Digital Sky Platform.
